# Arizona authority matters, even online

Who can assess you and prescribe while you are here? Start with that person’s name and role.

## A distant office still needs a local basis

A clinician is a health professional who assesses your health and talks through treatment.

Some health professionals with licences from other states can register with the right Arizona board for online care here. Arizona law checked October 3, 2026.

That registration does not let them provide care in person here without an Arizona licence. Arizona law checked October 3, 2026.

Ask what gives this person permission to treat you in Arizona. Ask which board can confirm that permission.

## Prescribing depends on the person’s role

Nurse practitioners are nurses trained further in assessing patients and planning care. Prescribing means ordering medicine.

Arizona nurse practitioners can make care decisions. They need the Nursing Board’s permission to order medicine, and that work must fit their training. Arizona rules checked October 3, 2026.

A physician assistant, or PA, is a health professional with a separate Arizona licence from a doctor or nurse. The PA Board has a public licence search. Board page checked October 3, 2026.

A PA’s permission to order medicine depends on training and ability. Board-confirmed work experience determines whether a supervising doctor’s agreement is required. Arizona law checked October 3, 2026.

Ask the person’s full name and role. Ask whether that person is allowed to order the medicine being discussed.

## A pharmacy permit answers another question

To ship medicine into Arizona, an out-of-state pharmacy must hold an Arizona permit. It also needs permission to operate where it is based. Arizona rules checked October 3, 2026.

The person and the pharmacy each need a check. Write down both names before weighing the plans.

Read this for the state’s rule about a clinician based elsewhere.

Check the role’s limits, then ask how they fit the proposed care.

This is a guide beside your Queen Creek care questions; it has neither a clinic desk nor medicine to sell.
