# Look up the person who will assess you

Get the full name and licence type first. Then choose the matching board.

## Use the letters after the doctor’s name

Use the Arizona Medical Board’s Doctor Search when MD follows your doctor’s name. It shows licence details and public board orders: the board’s written decisions about the doctor. Board page checked October 3, 2026.

DO means doctor of osteopathic medicine, a type of doctor with a separate licensing board. Use the Osteopathic Board’s Find your DO search when your doctor’s name is followed by DO. Board page checked October 3, 2026.

Match the spelling and the record to the person who will see you. Ask about anything you cannot make sense of in the record.

## Check the nurse’s licence and extra certificate

Arizona’s Nursing Board uses Nursys, an online record search, to check nursing licences and advanced-practice certificates. Advanced practice means nursing roles with extra training, such as nurse practitioner. Board page checked October 3, 2026.

For a nurse practitioner, ask for the nursing licence and nurse-practitioner certificate details. Look up both, or ask the Nursing Board to help you find them.

## Use the assistant’s own licence record

PA means physician assistant, a health professional with a separate licence from a doctor or nurse. Arizona’s Physician Assistant Board has a PA Search to check that licence. Board page checked October 3, 2026.

A physician assistant is different from a medical assistant who may give a shot. Ask the person’s exact job and licence type.

## A quiet record has limits

Arizona limits which board decisions appear online. A search showing no action does not prove the board has never taken action about that person. Arizona law checked October 6, 2026.

If you want to check past problems, ask the board: “Are there older public decisions about this licence that are missing from the website?” Ask what records it can provide.

## Read the source for this question

- [Medical Board: doctor search](https://www.azmd.gov/DoctorSearch/DoctorSearch)

For an MD’s licence and the board’s written decisions about that doctor.

- [Osteopathic Board: doctor search](https://azdo.gov/find-your-do)

Use this for a DO; the medical-board search is a separate check.

- [Nursing Board: licence and certificate checks](https://azbn.gov/)

Look up the nurse practitioner’s nursing licence as well as the extra certificate.

- [Physician Assistant Board: search](https://www.azpa.gov/)

For the PA’s own record, rather than a clinic’s name.

This is a guide beside your Queen Creek care questions; it has neither a clinic desk nor medicine to sell.
