Bring questions

# Bring questions that need an actual answer

Pick the ones that fit your concern. Leave room beside each for the answer.

## Start with the problem

- What do you think is causing my concern?

- What are the options besides this injection?

- What would we use to judge whether the plan is helping?

Explain the goal in plain words. Ask the clinician to connect the proposed treatment to that goal.

## Name the medicine and its basis

- What is the medicine’s full name, and is it a shot or a tablet?

- Is it approved by FDA or made to order?

- Why this medicine for this problem?

- For medicine made to order, what makes the change necessary for me?

Ask for the name and explanation in writing so there is something concrete to read after the visit.

## Make room for personal health questions

- How do my current medicines affect this decision?

- What does my health history change?

- What is known about this product if pregnancy or breastfeeding is relevant?

- What problem would mean getting help right away?

Bring the medicine names and health details you want the clinician to consider. Ask how they affect the plan being discussed.

## Ask how care continues

- Who can answer questions after the visit?

- What tests or follow-up are planned, and why?

- Which pharmacy would fill the prescription?

- What is the full first bill and the later cost?

- What happens if I decide not to start?

It is fine to ask for a pause and a written plan. An unfamiliar word is a reason to ask for a simpler explanation.

## Read the source for this question

The US drug agency is called FDA, short for Food and Drug Administration.

- [FDA: questions about compounding](https://www.fda.gov/drugs/human-drug-compounding/compounding-and-fda-questions-and-answers)

Useful background if the proposed plan includes a custom medicine.

- [Arizona: remote visit requirements](https://www.azleg.gov/ars/36/03602.htm)

Read before an online visit if you are unsure how care will be explained or how your health will be checked.

This is a guide beside your Queen Creek care questions; it has neither a clinic desk nor medicine to sell.
